On May 19, 2023 in the Leito-Manteles Valley, buffer zone of the Llanganates National Park, near Patate, Ecuador. We tagged with a satellite collar + camera a wild female Andean bear, which was named "Carla", in honor of Carla Toro, Manager of Punto Centro Comercial, who supports us in our research with large mammals.
"Carla" is the second bear, which carries a satellite collar with camera, we hope to see incredible videos when the bear has and takes care of her cubs. This study has a research permit granted by MAATE (MAATE-ARSFC-2022-2583). Many thanks also to INABIO for their scientific support and collars!
