A few days ago in the Leito-Manteles Valley, buffer zone of the Llanganates National Park, near Patate, Ecuador. We tagged with a satellite collar + camera a wild Andean bear, which was named "Armando", in honor of Armando Toro father of Carla Toro, from Punto Centro Comercial, who support us in our research with large mammals. This collar with camera for two years, will show us in video the hidden behavior of the Andean Bear.
This capture and tagging was funded by Carolene Magner of Wild about Conservation Fundraising. We have a research permit from MAATE (MAATE-ARSFC-2022-2583). Many thanks also to INABIO for their scientific support and collars!
