Release of ¨Luli¨

April 1, 2021, in the province of Sto Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Ecuador, a young female puma, in conflict with a peasant community by preying on their chickens, was trapped and imprisoned by those affected. The puma was taken to La Isla del Tapir Zoo, where she was treated, medicated and stabilized by professionals from the Hospital Vetetinario Tueri and the Susan Sheppard Foundation.

The Ecozoologico San Martin supported with supplies for the feline's nutritional well-being. The puma was named "Luli", which in the Tsáchila language means "Flower". Yesterday, thanks to the Ecuadorian Army Aviation, who provided us with a helicopter, and to the efforts of Diego Morillo and Marcela Cevallos from MAAE, Luli was translocated wearing a satellite collar to the Cotacachi Cayapas National Park. INABIO and we, as Fundación Oso Andino, will be in charge of the satellite monitoring of the puma's collar.

! Thank you all for your support, management and sacrifice to bring Luli back to nature !
